Skirt Challenge Wrap Up...The End

This is the wrap up of the Skirt Challenge. It was a really fun experience, there were a few days it was cold and I didn't want to wear a skirt or dress, but add some leggings or knee high socks and I was fine.

Skirt Challenge update

Here is the summary from the last week of days 16 to day 22!

Miss E is wearing a linen skirt I made her in February for this summer, My skirt is from J. Crew.

Warm summer like day, I made all three of our skirts here.

Off to a meeting,

Warm day of shopping, I made all of our skirts. My skirt is a wrap from a silky graphic print. I love this skirt!

Also taken that day, I was picking things from our garden for dinner and planting more potatoes.

I'm wearing a dress I originally made for a wedding that fell through, (I didn't ask for all the details) but I got to keep the dress! I will post about that soon, since it's wedding season. Miss J is wearing a jumper I made for Miss E two years ago. Miss E wearing a tee-shirt dress with a warm, and soft, stripe sweater from Forever 21.

This was taken today, Miss E and I after yoga and before running errands.

Day 11 & 12, Skirt Challenge

Day 11, we went to Seattle for homeschool field trip to the Pacific Science Center. Layers and coats were a must!

Day 12,  Today we hit 81 degrees! Wow, it feels like summer, which meant summer outfits. I love my rayon skirt, the print is fun and goes with so many shirts!
Miss E is wearing her midi length summer skirt from last year, and Miss J is wearing a skirt I made for a Magazine shoot last spring for Party Style Magazine (she got to be a model and keep the clothes and swag!)

The Skirt Challenge

With just weeks away till Mother's Day, I'm gearing up for the Skirt Challenge.

I will post as it gets closer. Who else is doing this? I would love to see what your wearing, and share this info with others, lets start a revolution!!

Day 29, skirt challenge

Phew, almost done! So I'm a bad person,I didn't even take a photo on Monday, oops!

But  here is Tuesday! Purple maxi dress from old navy, and a tie-dyed t-shirt. Did some sewing and worked in my garden adding compost. A farm girl first and a tailor second!

Day 26, skirt challenge

I'll make this short, very busy Saturday around here!
Chambray wrap skirt, vintage t-shirt, comfortable and light.
Perfect for a day of yard work and cleaning! Have a great weekend!!

Day 25, skirt challenge

Here we are at day 25. I need to pay more than this daily photo, I've been working and just haven't had (or made time) to get caught up and organize photos and post and update....oh well. Maybe next week!
Another busy work day of sewing, cutting and fittings!
This skirt I need to do a whole blog post on it. I made this while pregnant with my youngest, and I got a little crazy with the ruffles!
I live in Target t-shirts! And I love orange and coral. This shirt is a staple in my wardrobe (I have 3 others exactly like it so I will always have one clean!)

Day 24, skirt challenge

I've got a run to Costco and have a few fittings this afternoon. So comfort and put together are what I'm going for today. This Orange silk skirt I made a few years ago and I will wear it forever! Vintage t-shirt, and khaki cardigan from Banana republic.

Day 21 &22

This has been a busy weekend! I'll make this brief. Yesterday I wore a tiered maxi skirt and long sleeve t-shirt. My good friend made me a beautiful wrap bracelet and I based my whole outfit around it. The colors are light browns and greens. And my maxi skirt is gray, blue and white stripe.
And since today was warm and beautiful I just wore a white t-shirt and a tie-dyed knit skirt. After dinner my family and went for a mini hike to a local attraction, Victor Falls. And it is very high and dangerous! My husband took the photos of my son and I since my daughter's didn't want to stand that close to the ledge...it's was very high!
I've had a few people tell me they are following this challenge and look forward to what I will wear everyday, what are you wearing? Who else is doing this? Show me what your doing!

Day 20, at the fair!

The family and I are at the Mother Earth News fair, we love coming to this and taking classes and learning about farming, homesteading, and animals.

Day 16 & 17 skirt challenge...

Busy week and it's only Wednesday! Yesterday I forgot to post the photo, oops! Here is yesterday, I wore one of my wrap skirts. the previous post is here
 http://stylishtailor.blogspot.com/2010/08/summer-wrap-up-or-wrap-skirt.html
One of my yoga clients gave me this orange t-shirt. I love the colors!!
This is what my life is like wrangling kids, I wanted him in the photo with me, we both love orange. but he wasn't so happy about that, the stinker!

Today, as my kids head off to school and work I wanted warmth and comfort. Bright blue t-shirt, light brown cashmere hoodie and a silky, scarf skirt. With my Toms and Fossil bag.  After wearing the bright orange and blue I figure I might as well wear it again! Just differently.

Yup, a candid. Since I still have this awful cold/sinus cold, my eyes were getting drippy trying not to squint...So glamorous!

Day 5, skirt challenge

Day 5, this has been fun this week. And very comfortable! Today I'm sewing, mending, steaming and a few fittings as well. My tee shirt is from gap but I painted the colors on it.  Boring shirts won't do! The skirt is from j crew and one of my favorite! I've made at least 3 very similar to this.

Day 4, skirt challenge

Ok don't judge, today I'm staying home, cleaning house, working our yard and garden, and it's supposed to be on the mid 80's! My girls both wanted to wear skirts, so here we are.
