Spring Fabulous!

These are from Children's Place and Gymboree.

Spring/Summer dresses, I have a weakness (obviously!) for making dresses. I love planning out the year and looking at what trends that are coming out for summer, I love to check out Gymboree, Children's Place, and Gap Kids. They all have practical and cute clothes that I can easily make my way.

I saw this dress and noticed with several others at other stores as well, that the round yoked neckline is everywhere! I used it a few times with various dresses, with different styles.

I love the combo of yellow and bright pink, I think they are great for summer and look great with all skin tones. This is a gathered halter style jumper. The pockets were an afterthought but I love the contrast from the fabrics.

This is one of the first dresses that I named, the Leona. I realized I name dresses usually after the artist I'm listening to at the time I make it. This style is very cute and super easy to wear. I love a tiered style on kids, they can be added to as the child grows and allows movement and yet modest and cute. I did raglan sleeves because it just worked. This fabric is quilters calico, nice and heavy dut,y and beautiful!

Ok this dress was an adventure to make, I wanted to use the green and pink print, but since I didn't have enough for the whole dress, I had to find other fabrics that would work, and so here it is, I made this one "growable" as well.

A fun print that I knew should be on its own, so using the yoked style neckline and wanting slightly puffed sleeves, I was able to make this a beautiful dress that has a strip of elastic at the waist on both front and back, for some shape.
